Kindle goes global!

The Kindle has been a long time favorite of mine – meaning I’ve been following it right from the day it launched and have been keeping a tab on all the different models that have been coming out.

But the latest Amazon Kindle all the older variants with a single stroke – it is now globally usable, and wireless is pre-activated in most countries in the world! There are also several international magazines including those specific to certain countries that can be downloaded and stored on a Kindle, making it a truly global accessory – probably the first of the gadgets to have truly earned that sobriquet.

All the great features of the Kindle – including the screen that is immensely readable even in harsh sunlight, the size of under 1/3 rd an inch, the amazing internet speeds which allow us to get a book wirelessly delivered in under 60 seconds, and so on, are still there. The classic Amazon Kindle – the one with a 6″ screen – is now available for a very affordable price of $ 259 and that is already pre-loaded with global wireless. Since Amazon is now shipping all over the world, it is quite simple to order!

And for the real die-hard readers who want to go electronic, the larger Kindle – DX variant comes with a screen of 9.7″ and seriously looks like a modern magazine straight out of star trek!! That one can store 2500 books in electronic form (the smaller one can store 1500, and that in itself is huge!), and has several more amazing features.

If you’ve not yet checked out the Amazon Kindle, it is high time for you to do so – right now!!
